This chalk table from Giggle isn't really what I had in mind, but I do like the idea of a chalkboard table top! It wouldn't be hard to DIY with some sassy chalkboard paint from Hudson Paint.
PS: It is possible that Ikea will be the victor in this search. Cute simple and cheap!

Yes - I saw that over at Oompa and bookmarked it for a possible future purchase. But like you, I may end up with an Ikea table. How long will it be before they stop putting chalk in their mouths, anyway?
