Order = Luxury

Kind of funny how this single picture of a laundry room manages to capture exactly what I'd like our house to be like some day: clean, bright, organized but not rigid, kind of old-fashioned and simple, but with a touch of luxury.

Damn you, Pottery Barn.

Pottery Barn is the devil...

I still have PB magazines tabbed for everything I love in them. It's full full full of tabs. I'm still thinking about how to use a small PB gift card I got for my birthday - 7 months ago!

They never publish the picture of the owner dusting the trinkets in the open shelves

How does Pottery Barn so reliably nail that perfect balance of order and disarray? It kills me every time I get a catalog. You know the one two catalogs ago? With the timber-frame house and white-washed floors? I would murder three strangers to live there. Four - four strangers.

(This post is months old, but I'm giving a three-hour final exam. My students think I'm up here typing something insightful and related to my career. Heh.)
