I mentioned a while ago that we're going to sell the Chambers Stove that came with the house. We've had it posted on Craigslist for a while, then tried a Chambers website (and got a stern talking-to from the host over there - yikes!), and finally ebay. Ebay generated some moderate interest, but other than a Craigslist spammer, no one has made an offer yet.
I know that some folks from Houseblogs.net read our blog and maybe that group might be interested. (Is it tacky to advertise something for sale on your blog? Meh, whatever. It's a piece of appliance history! I'm performing a civic duty for pete's sake!)
Anyway, here are some photos of the lovely stove. Mostly we've decided to sell it because it's just too much stove for us. It's really cool looking, but it's a beast! All the burners, the oven, and the broiler work. The enamel is intact and there's hardly any rust (a little in the warming oven). It's clean, but not super-shiny.
Here she is! To turn on a burner, you push down on the top latch and turn the lever.
This is the handle that lifts the griddle. I don't think it's the original.
Which lifts up to be a broiler! This is the most badass broiler I've ever seen.
The tray lifts out for cleaning.
PS: We are also selling a cast-iron farmsink! It's loooooovely!!!
PPS: Both weigh an absolute ton.
PPPS: I wanted to add this endorsement from the blog The Cottage at Wit's End. That's how you're supposed to use a Chambers stove.

Love your stove and sink. How much is the sink?
Too bad I'm not closer, I'd take that stove in a nanno-second.

Stuccohouse: What, no appliance-roadtrips in your future? (I like your blog, by the way!)
I love that stove!
Too bad the shipping costs to Europe would probably be higher than the price of our house :) :)
Good luck with selling!
It's beautiful. I wish it would fit in my kitchen!
Super gorgeous stove.
Wow, that's too cool! I'd be interested, but we're still a ways off from the kitchen re-do.. :(
Its so cool looking! Good luck selling it..
Very nice looking Chambers model B. If you feel you must sell it, you must, but I have one of this same model & can't begin to tell you how great these ranges are! You might want to check out the website I manage at http://www.vintagechambers.com for more information about your stove. There are scans of the manuals & cookbooks that originally came with these beasts, as well as other interesting information about them. All free & yours for the download.
Hello! I've really enjoyed reading your blog. Is the stove still available? I'm very interested, and relatively local.
Do you still have the Chambers stove and what do you want for it? I live in Louisville Ky and can pick it up...
Hi Lisa (and, ack! Elizabeth Anne, too!) - The stove sold via ebay to a very nice couple from upstate New York. It is currently living in their weekend cabin-by-the-lake, cooking for family reunions and hunting weekends.
I will add, though, that the cast iron farm sink is still sitting in the scullery. Poor, lonely sink... ;)
Did you sell your stove yet? I may be interested.
Hi Neco -
Yes, the stove has been sold. I added an update to the top of this post.
This is the exact stove that my family had for over 42 years, with the exception of the hood. Unfortunately, we had a burgarly, and it was taken as well. My mom was especially devastated. What part of the country are you located? What is your asking price?forward info to: valerie.5341@gmail.com
Hi Valerie - As you'll see above, the stove was sold a while ago. Good luck finding one! -KS
